I will probably also skip this one. I have been struggling to register with CSA since early December. I have a new email address so I cannot log in on old details. Yet no response from CSA!! Useless!

Phone them, they usually have a quicker response then.

Still waiting to activate my managers license ...

Definitely phone them - they hardly respond to emails (not sure why).

Ask for Tarryn Duncan (membership queries).

They've also done away with the club administator function and replaced it with an "approval by email" system. If your club's details are out of date, then you won't get the approval email.

This was Tarryn;s reply last week:

Applications for 2017 Managers licenses will only be available for purchase on our new website by next week.

Here is the route map for the Road and TT champs.

The start venue has moved, as there is an athletics event already booked at the stadium. The start/finish is now at the POTS NURSERY, which is 4Km south of Carnival City - at the 5Km to go point of the Carnival City Macsteel National Classic (CCNMC) race.

The TT takes place on a closed circuit on the R23 between point 2 and 3 (on the map).

The ROAD race stars at point 2 and follows the red line until the "Diana Road" circuit (blue on map).

The original route gave distances of 20Km, 40Km, 60Km, 80Km, 120Km and 180Km, but his is slightly different with a lap of 19Km, plus the 15.5Km there and back.

31Km to the loop and back (I assume the shorter distances will turn around before the blue loop:

  • +1 lap   =   50 Km
  • +2 laps =   69 Km
  • +3 laps =   88 Km
  • +4 laps = 107 Km
  • +5 laps = 126 Km
  • +6 laps = 145 Km
  • +7 laps = 164 Km
  • +8 laps = 183 Km

Route

Point 7 is the right turn that everyone takes at the CCMNC.

The Vets Men and Elite/U23/Juniors would have cycled the blue loop at the February CCMNC race last year, so it should be familiar for most.

That's all I have for now.

As for the high cost, I've asked why - and also shown the costs for the last 2-3 events (thanks Zeffer for sharing).

Not sure what reply I will get, but let's see.

Cool, any idea of the distance per category Gerald?

It's on the CyclingSA website, under the events category when you select your age category.

Too much PT for me to copy and paste from a site that doesn't allow me to highlight.

The distances shown there don't however match the actual route as the route changed from the original one I knew about.

In your case, Men 50-54 shows 80-odd Km (if I remember correctly), so I guess the +3 laps option of 88Km (but don't quote me).

Not bizarre, this is the norm.

Bizarre would be if this event was actually run properly.

I wonder if our province even have provincial champs..
