Yoh! -6 is rather chilly. We're down to around 6 at the moment and I'm starting to feel the extremities and considering bringing out some of the winter gear.

I must say, I'm enjoying commuting. Although it helps that I know that cat-i is waiting for me, otherwise I'm not sure I'd be as motivated

Was -2 at the end so not too bad but still took the train. Hoping for Monday.

Besides distance covered - anyone ascended more than 19,000m during their commute this year? I climb around 320m daily.

I've climbed 36,865m in total this year according to Strava - the joy of living next to NorthCliff Hill :)

Also, the 320m is in a 30km return trip.

I climb about 375m on the way to work 550 on the way back MTB its 23k one way roadbike 28k going 34 back(i take a detour around the steep climb home on the way back

With proper kit no issues. Worst it went this year was about -12 on mine did get a bit slow in 10cm of snow on the higher lying parts.

Correct.  I have less of the problem with the temps itself.  The bloody ice is more of an issue.  There are big sections of my commute where the ice in the morning on the roads takes you out.

was absolute perfection in CT this morning!

Was perfection in Joburg as well this morning.

Getting dark in the mornings and afternoons.

But such a beautiful time of the year when the last rains have fallen, so the tracks are still hardpacked but not muddy, but the winter dust hasn't arrived yet.

Well this morning was also perfect.  1 degree but clear skies, sunshine.  Rest of the week will be crap but it seems next week is looking good.  Maybe I would get 3 commutes done.

For the moment, next week looks like perfect weather the whole week.  Wonder if I will survive a 5 day commute?  Time will tell.

Too many public holidays here in South Africa! Hoping to do 3 - so this should give you a nice gap that I'll have to try catch up to during hte next week.

Lets see.  My commutes are done for the week.  Raining today and snow starting tonight and crap weather till the weekend.
