Mpumalanga Tour Coverage

Thats a bit of a shame that there is no coverage. It seems like a pretty serious race as far as the local professional scene is concerned and is one of only a handful of multi-day road races that I'm aware of. I'm surprised to see that nobody is really interested enough to be covering it in some or another way. It doesn't even really get spoken about here on the Hub.

Hopefully that doesn't result in the sponsors pulling out and the race falling away.

Real shame the organisers are not doing a proper job of covering it, neither is CSA.

The best way to do so is to follow the roadcover team on instagram/twitter.

Surprised the riders are doing so little social media around it, no wonder sponsorship it sparce.

Is there no coverage of the Mpumalanga tour anywhere? Not even just a daily race report by someone or a results summary?

I cant seem to find anything.

Strangely enough Stage 1 had a short feature on SABC News...

True, but as a pro it comes with the job. Same way the stages winners at Tdf are moeg at the end of the day but spend an hour with the media. (Same here, except they have to create their own content and not have someone write the story for them.)

Believe it or not, many pro sports people, including cyclists don't actually handle their own accounts during big events and Tours for example when it comes to social media and press releases. They have ghost account holders who handle all that and get paid to do it.

Don't see why a rider / athlete has to create awareness during an event they pay to be it from a significant platform. that is up to team managers, event / race organisers etc.

Of which, Forever Resorts is doing a good job on the social media front and you can follow the event well daily from that account.

Exactly, right there on the handle bar, where Spartacus keeps his Internal Motor button, that's where Dan kept his mini keyboard.

Forever Resorts does show a bit on Facebook.

Only reason I know is because I am Friends with someone on tour and saw when he shared a video.
