make, model, discerning features? will help in identifying the owner.  Perhaps post a pic.

im guessing he is wanting the owner to divulge that information and then if it is the same as what he has then he will know he/she is the rightful owner

Well the basics might help... he has not even said whether it is a mountain bike or road bike... and considering the number of bikes stolen in cape town and surrounding areas, he will likely get hundreds of calls.

At least say what make and model it is!

MTB Scott dual sus

Perhaps add this to your first post as will likely get lost in the thread and the question will get asked over and over again... it a 29er or 26er?

If all else fails, take the serial number down and contact the agents to find out which shop it got sold through. Might be a way of tracking the owner through the sales info the shop keeps!

Interested to know how you 'found' it?

Bike found In Newlands Ave on 18 Jan 2017

Hey Gerard,

Welcome to the bikehub. Liked your piece in the Cape Town Cycle Tour magazine.

There have been a few of these stolen in the past few months and the people dont check each random thread. So a little more information would be useful. Wheel size, colour, groupset, wheels and seat. This will make it much easier for someone searching on google to find this thread.

Next question, how was the bike found? Just lying in the road or taken off someone?

Good news. The bike has been reunited with its owner.

WOW, was it a hubber that got the bike back or a friend of a friend ? and how on earth did he loose the bike in the first place?
