Hi.

Im looking at selling my full XT 3x10 groupset. What would be a good price to start with? The groupset is in excellent condition and has a newish chain on.

Also which kind of groupset?

If you look through the classifieds then 'groupset' seems to mean anything from derailleurs, shifters and chain all the way through to what I think of as a groupset: derailleurs, shifters, cassette, chain, cranks & rings, full brakes, rotors and BB.

It has around 2000km on it. Not 100% sure the model. Its shimano XT with shadow rd with clutch. It has xt brakes and ispec shifters. Its the complete groupset.

Maybe post some pictures here that show the model, the condition of the cranks n blades any damage and then people can give you some feedback or at least a ball park based on the what's been about recently.

Im selling the 3x10 so just want to know what I can ask for it. It has a brand new chain on and casette still looks good. I want to go 1x

You could always keep the groupset, remove the 3 x chainrings and install a 32 or 34T in place of the middle chainring and you are running a 1 x 10.  If the cassette is at the end of its life, then you can replace with a 1 x 10 cassette with 11-42 or 11-46T.

Unless of course you selling as you wish to go 1x11 or 1x12?

I converted my 3x XT groupset to 1x with relative ease. Relative ease may actually make it sound harder than it was

2000km is bordering the end of life for a casette (I get 2000 - 2500km), and guys here will scream obscenities with that kind of km's on a chain.

Any reason that you want to go 3x?  Nothing wrong with it, just asking.

To give you an idea - as a point of reference; here's my XT 2x10 groupset, should be a guideline.

To me 2000km on a cassette seems a bit on the low side! On average I get 2500km on a chain.

That's way low! I'm 4000km into a cassette and just put a new chain on and it's solid

Please correct me if I am wrong, but isn't 11-42 on a 10spd the highest you can go?
