Who is going to try and get the Family's permission?

We can then organize a "Protest Ride" to go and erect the Ghostbike.

It's usually a better gesture to do it as a surprise for the family. Think of it as a gift from the cycling community to one of our fallen biking family.

If you guys get permission from the loved ones to erect a Ghost Bike in honor of Gregory, I have an unused Mtb frame (26'er) taking up valuable space.

Will need donation of fork (rigid), wheels, seatpost, saddle, stem, handlebar and cranks.

Stuff will probably need to be welded on to prevent theft of said components.

Best part is, frame is white already, just remove decals on it.

I have a seized sr suntour fork I will donate to the cause

AWESOME!

Anyone in the Northern Suburbs with some time to do collections and get the pieces together?

Varkie, have you got any spare steel laying about you can weld onto the bottom bracket of the bike to act as an anchor? An upside down T piece works lekka, so that the 'foot' can be planted in some premix at the site of the accident and then the bike can't be stolen once it's been placed.

No Problem, plenty offcut angles and sections lying around.

Forgot to mention ii can also prefix the bike to the concrete in a big holder thing as we have A LOT of concrete everyday that we basically throw away. It will be harder to get to the site but if we have 4 guys that can work with a bakkie. Then theres no working with concrete on site. Just dig and plant.

Schweeeet! Worth removing skewer and putting some round bar through the axle and welding the ends to the frame. Good weld options on any fastening areas on the bike so that parts can't be easily taken off using a spanner!

Anyone able to get the bike sprayed\painted? Any contacts?

Give me the address for Top floor. I work in Blackheath and can drop off the Wheels, Fork and Saddle.
