That lock ring is installed incorrectly on the dropout - goes below the spring, and locks the screw against the dropout.

I'll fix it up... Received it from Momsen like that.. also, I'm non the wiser..[emoji4]

Just shipped that way so the bolt does not get lost without the wheel in I suppose.

Perhaps some assembly instructions should have been in the box.

If I lived down there I would take my bikes to Revolution Cycles for a service tomorrow.... they sound like my kind of crowd. Respect to them.

Have you given any thought to gear ratios?

  • 3 weeks later...

A rigid fork won't slow him down... as long as it's a decent make it will be strong enough to take a tough commute...

There are some pictures of a badly landed rigid here somewhere... ask Rouxtjie...

That would be mine.

you will note it was the same fork I was jumping in my avatar.

over cooked the big jump at virgin active on the Spruit and that's what cracked it, unknown to me.

I then proceeded to ride it hard for 4 month and broke it jumping a ditch the day before 94.7.

Not the forks faults, purely my fat ass using it in a method it was not intended for.
