One critically injured after cyclist and motorbike collide, Muldersdrift

One person is in a critical condition after a cyclist and motorcycle collided on the R114 in Muldersdrift close to the Avianto hotel.

The cyclist did not see the motorcycle diver and passenger approaching after taking a turn and that is when a T-bone collision took place.

ER24 paramedics transported two of the patients to nearby hospitals in the area.

At the time of ER24's arrival and by the time ER24 paramedics left the scene, local authorities had not arrived for further investigation.

Those bikes shunt down that road between Riverstone and the Circle.. I was cycling yesterday in the same spot and a BMW GS 1200 hurtled past me doing at least 140

Ag no!

Hoping for good news here! Too many incidents coming up! I don't remember it ever being this bad!

(Did we just post less about this in the past? Anyone with yearly stats?)

Hope the cyclist pulls through.

Sounds like the bike turned in front of the moto?

That's what I assumed...need more info. Very straight section of road by Avianto.

NOT saying this is what happened, but cyclists doin U-turns in the Cradle is a subject that we need to address. But at another time and place.

Hope that both these dudes are ok and make recoveries.

I do lots of U-Turns in the Cradle... make sure the road is clear first tho......

Also, motorists and Motorcyclists should be more aware in the cradle on the weekends ... what truely disgusts me in South Africa is the utter disrespect and contempt motorists have for cyclists in Soth Africa.

Hmm, unfortunate this incident.

Tbh, the cradle is basically an accident waiting to happen.

I would like to see bigger police presence, to enforce speed limit of motorised vehicles, as well as educate cyclists about proper use of the reserved cycle lane.

Lots of motorbikes in the cradle today mostly going way over the speed limit. Trust the injured parties will pull through..

There was another accident closer to rhino an lion park this morning, one guy looked seriously injured, trust all will be ok too.

The speeds of those motorbike clubs as a general phenomenon

Very dangerous

Encounter it regularly on Helzhoogte Pass near Stellenbosch.

The road is clear.

*Blink*

There's a growling speedster ????

Sadly I've seen motorbikes open up after speed bumps in the Cradle many times. I think they use it as a cut through to get out towards Harties.

140km?? The guy must still have been in 1st gear!!

They motor down those roads at breakneck speeds so it doesn't come as a surprise that there an accident between a cyclist and motorcyclist. Either way I hope all involved in the accident are okay. Its just becoming more dangerous every day regardless of mode of transport....
