Hi Everyone,

I'd like to welcome Pantani to the The Hub "Team" as a moderator.

So who are the moderators?

What is a moderator?

A

moderator is a member of an internet forum who has special permissions

or "powers" which allow them to enforce the forum rules.

A key role

of a moderator is to ensure that discussions and debates are carried

out in an appropriate manner. Moderators keep the community together

and keep it attractive to newcomers.

So what does this mean?

Moderators

have the authority to edit, move, close and delete forum topics as well

as individual posts. They can give out warnings when forum rules are

broken and step in when things get out of hand.

As a moderator

they can still participate in discussions, debates and general chit

chat. They are not expected to remain completely neutral or objective

in general discussions, but are expected to be rational and reasonable

when acting as a moderator.

OMG... From having posts and entire threads reported and then deleted to becoming a moderator... That's surreal...

(edit)

Actually it's not. It's what I've come to expect from this forum.

A moderator is not allowed to have an opinion......For said oppinion they get flamed.

So instead of sometimes getting informed, nice debates with people in the know they rather keep their fingers away from the keyboard to avoid HubHisteria.....ConfusedCry

Sad but true....Use it....don't use it.

Hi Pantani.....good luck my friend.....hope you had a nice stay on the Hub....Wink

Spidy dit is nie wat Admin gese het nie......

"As a moderator they can still participate in discussions, debates and general chit chat. They are not expected to remain completely neutral or objective in general discussions, but are expected to be rational and reasonable when acting as a moderator."
