Did two laps of Conties this morning - started getting hot - when I say hot I mean 29, not the 36 predicted for tomorrow - much suffering ahead for the midpackers.

 

Trails are dry dry dry - they've had a bit of a cleanup so there is less loose dirt on them than there was a week ago. Nice to ride.

Disaster! I am out.

 

So I decided to sort out my son's bike before the race. The rear brake is not working well. So I tried to bleed it. After 2 hours I gave up. Seems like the master cylinder is shot. So junior, who is a racing snake, is taking my bike, and I am sitting this one out. I would have done the 25, so no real skin of my back. He could get a top 20 in the 45 if he races well.

I decided to do the 25km instead of 45km. I am tired of summer and this stooopid heat and wind. Wil go racing again once we reach normal temparatures.

Congrats to all that participated and that finished. Was a hot day and think we went up most of the hills in the area.

Wife also did the 25km, bit of a fall but finished ok. She said it was hectic and the total climb does not represent the effort needed as accurately
