Pack recommendations? Dakine?

Looking for a new pack as my one died on the weekend.

Doesn't need to be too big, needs to have a bladder and needs to fit the usual kit (tools, shock pump, tube, slime, pads, another layer / jacket etc) nothing mammoth, given up carrying the spade. ;)

I really like the look of the Dakine Drafter, it does look a bit on the bigger side but it's not a deal breaker, only thing is I can't find a stockist.

What are you using and what do you like?

Check out the Osprey Viper/Raptor series.

I used CamelBak for many years until I discovered the Osprey packs.

I find them more comfortable and cheaper but the quality is on par with CamelBak.

Dakine used to be available from Swindle.  I haven't checked in with them in years though.  I have the Dakine Nomad pack which I think is 20L,  its good and it wasn't expensive.

I've got the Dakine Nomad, its a great pack and super quality. Tend to use it more as a smaller hiking pack though. Have a Camelbak Rogue for most of my riding as it's smaller but fits most of my spare, a tube , pump and my phone and keys in the second pouch. The Camelbak Lobo is a slightly bigger version then the Rogue. Both are often on  special at CWC.

Seeing you want to carry pads and an extra layer, you won't go wrong with the Drafter

Camelbak if you are wanting the bladder- the bladders have a lifetime guarantee and I have had 7 year old bladders replaced for free which earned me their loyalty.

If you want something racey I actually suggest a Salomon Adv 12 racepack, you can literally access all but the one pouch without removing it which is great for eating and doing repairs on the run, it is far more comfortable as well.

I've always loved the quality of Dakine packs for surfing, snowboarding and the attention to detail is great. My snow pack has so many useful features for hiking out, storage and fit install blows away 99% of other offerings. Most review say they make great riding packs but they are so under the radar it's crazy. Trying to find a stockist here is also a a fair mission.

I only hear good things about the Osprey ones but for some reason I just don't like them. Not sure if it's the fit, the sizes alway seem to be between what I want / have or the fact that every time i see their kit I just have this urge to rebrand them for free as it's awful. ;)

Will go check some Camelbak option as I haven't put one on for a long time and a million people can't be wrong.

I recently chose between the Source Hydration packs (their bladders are the best) and the Camelbak Mule. Chose the Mule was on special at Due South and very happy with it has enough space and good quality.

How about the Uswe F4 pack. I have the smaller F3 and for lmore nger rides still use my Camelbak MULE which is always a good option but if I had to replace it I'd consider the F4.
