Andrew Steer Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 What is the rider tying to disclose here? I get that he's dodgy - capable of breaking the rules and hiding it successfully and I get that he wasn't tough enough to perform at a high level under pressure. Not sure what he's actually after though. A book contract maybe?Usually justifying a failed career... His story: he injected vitamins, used tramadol etc because he was broken and needed to performSky's story: he was thinking about injecting, was maybe suicidal so they didn't want to push him over the edge, and they don't approve of their riders using tramadol even though it is not banned. The truth: You can't handle the truth (this is just a grappie)
Gen Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 But the team say he wasn't caught. He hadn't taken anything by needle at that stage, according to them. Maybe he is a depressed, unemployed ex cyclist who sees an opportunity to start down a new career or reality TV appearances etc and kickstarts this by talking nonsense to the press and modifying what happened. Sent from my iPad using TapatalkYes a case of he said they said.. but because sky have recently been exposed of not knowing what they are saying, having a few dodge practices and being caught out in a few fibs it does indeed make you wonder about them. We've been calling for whistle blowers, and now that their are coming forward we go and say.. oh no what is he after. Why come out now.. well he can get the most publicity now.. milking it.. for sure, but he wasn't enough of a talent to make a killing off this.
Andrew Steer Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Wiggins and Brailsford come from Track Cycling... WWF has more credibility quite frankly.
BeegMig Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 And people wonder why professional sport can and will never be clean... if you don't perform, you don't get paid, it's that simple. Yip people, drugs work... you do the sums Have a lekker Friday guys Maybe they should start two categories, like bodybuilding. One group for self-medicators and one for no needle riders.Or drop it all, they know the risks and obviously know how to use it. May the best doper win
BeegMig Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Wiggins and Brailsford come from Track Cycling... WWF has more credibility quite frankly. UZ0Cvkf.pngThose look like they would have to compete in the "open category"

May the best doper winI really think it's getting towards the point where they may as well have professional athletes assisted by team doctors to be kept healthy. Keep the guys topped up for the duration of a grand tour, allow a little controlled testosterone boost, a bit of hgh etc - level the playing field a bit, in a controlled and healthy way. Obviously some guys will still get a little more assistance beyond that, but the gap will be small. The current gap between clean and doped up riders is way to big to negate... there is pretty much no chance for the clean guys, and when push comes to shove and they're not winning anything, not getting a new contract, the good guys become 'bad guys' and the cycle continues ad infinitum
Gen Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Also brings attention to how Sky and probably most teams treat their youngsters, that the kids felt so desperate make it that he started doing dodge things, it is no excuse but where is the emotional support for these kids.
Andrew Steer Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Those look like they would have to compete in the "open category"Nah bru... never tested positive

BeegMig Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 And one for e-bikesLike the powerboost used in F1.I don't think that will work. Nibali will use it on descents in the rain, thats too much
Velouria Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 He told team Doctors he did not inject himself ( but now admits he did it a few times a week )I am no Doctor or Nurse, but would there not be evidence as in injection marks? If he wore armwarmers they might have missed it.Specially if he had the black SKY ones. But white armwarmers, like the white ones Team HSBC wore, those made it easy to "spot" who had a bit of needle action that dayThe rest day at 2016 TDF in the Pyrenees. Arm warmers...
BeegMig Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 The rest day at 2016 TDF in the Pyrenees. Arm warmers... Nicely spotted-googled, dude.
Velouria Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Nicely spotted-googled, dude.I remember the Twitter conspiracies that this photo caused!
shaper Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 So we meant to feel sorry for this has been who is obviously milking money from the media?
Gen Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 The rest day at 2016 TDF in the Pyrenees. Arm warmers... If you were just skin and bone you would also get cold easily man.
Mamil Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 I took Tramadol once when I had a broken foot (a major precipitating event in me retiring from a long and fiercely competitive reserve league cricket career) - nice buzz but jeepers did it make me depressed the next day. More than a hangover, more like a jagged feeling of depression.
