Been into the their Tygervalley shop twice, both times it was not a good experience.

Went with someone there-they were very helpful in trying to give the guy advice-very clueless too. In the end a mechanic came and helped. I also got a refund for my mislabled cleats witout hassle

50/50ish I'd say

On the service note, without risk of hijacking the thread completely before Friday... has anyone recently been to a Cajees? walked out of the Little Falls one a few years ago and swore I wouldn't support them again.

The customers must always be acknowledged immediately then confirm if just browsing or needs help.  The shopping experience is as important as the quality of the goods.

OP is just trying to score himself a set of gp4000s. Cleverly mentioned that he was looking for "gatorskins".

Just kidding OP, am referring to a previous complaint on here.

Similar happened to me at Cyclelab Boksburg recently, was looking to buy a Garmin mount and was the only customer in the shop. The sales assistants in the coffee area all looked my way but moment i tried to make eye contact they looked away, walked out after about 15 min.  NO SALE.

Always have good experience from CL in Fourways.

I've had similar experiences with them at both the Waterfront and Tygervalley branches. I'm also new to the sport so I share the sentiments of "being looked down on."

That being said, I'm indifferent. I think you'd be hard pressed to find any store these days that has exceptional service. When I do get good service I'm surprised. I appreciate it, but I hardly expect it (sad to say).

They'll get my money as long as they keep offering better deals but I wouldn't go out of my way to give them my business.

True that.  It was an eye opener when we came to Germany how customer service should be.  We do however have a local version of Builders Warehouse (Baywa) here whose service is just as bad as the Builders Warehouse in SA.

I know that everyone loves them, But I am not so impressed.

Last Friday (17 March) The wife and I were in Cape Town and I thought I would pop in as I need a new gatorskin for my back wheel. I manage to convince my wife to go to a restaurant right next door and as we are heading there after a nice morning at the V&A waterfront, I mention popping in at CWC.

So we walk in, 15 minutes of looking at stuff in the shop and trying to catch the eye of an employee and we left without buying anything. The shop was not busy, there were no other customers that I could see. Every time I started heading towards a staff member they suddenly seemed to remember pressing business elsewhere.

Both the wife and I were left with the distinct impression that they must be doing so well after the CTCT sales that they didn't really want to sell any more product this month.Get better service from the tea room on the corner, at least there I get a hello from the staff.

aslo requested some pricing from them - the first request they answered , but not complete and the second they juts boldly ignored me - NO worries CWC you wont see me in your store soon - many other places to shop. If you cannot even respond to a price request how will you support me once I bought a bike
