Hi all

The below bicycles stood out for me in my range that I’m looking at (for my first buy). Which one would you guys say are the best option all similar price.

Merida Big nine 300

Monsen AL329

Silverback Sola 3

Titan Comp 29er

Scott Aspect 930

Thanks for your input.

Scott Aspect gets my vote (looks and brand). But to be honest, your best value for money is probably going to be the Silverback. If I was you I would scratch the Titan off the list from the get go.

Maybe a good idea to post the spec of all the bikes here so everyone can have a look.

I was in the same predicament sometime ago and I wise man told to rather spend a little more now on a mtb with mid level components than a lot of money later once you've realized that an entry level mtb is useless.

I'd go for silverback sola 3.

Posted

All bikes are pretty similar in spec, except the Scott that has a lower end groupset.so excluding the Scott, all are pretty much the same.

There have been some rave reviews on Silverback and Momsen's after sales service.

I would base my decision on two things. Firstly the after sales reputation and which bike looks the best to you.

Silverback will mix up their components making it better all round value and affordable. I don't have the best brakes(Deore) but a solid rear derailleur(XT) for example. Have the Sola 2. Also make your choice on the fork.
