So apparently this last climb broke a few spirits?

There must be an entire lost-and-found bucket, full of senses of humours - all found by some innocent supporter, from that last section.  I know that the trail-builder wasn't given much time for the trail refinement, but it felt like a lawnmower had been taken over a  "mountain", and we called it a trail...

I was about middle of the pack - never saw a single rider ON their bike - but heard LOADS of beautiful language  :cursing:

This is such a crap event and those last 4 or 5km just made it so much worse.

Whoever decided on finishing on that farm clearly didn't ride the route.

From all the adjectives I heard while pushing my bike in those last few km I'm pretty sure that a good number of people won't be back to this event.

Then as a bonus you cross the finish line and there's a table with polystyrene cups all filled with water.

(only know of 1 person that's done this event twice. everybody else seems to do this once and never again. some of the people that were pushing with me had also done it twice but swore that this year was the last time)

How was your ride?

I didn't ride it, but you know that...

I wonder if Knox and Speedy are still bitching about that last climb though...

Now how must I know that hardman?

This race is a true test, proper tough. Long distance with a proper sting at the end, the worst part for me was the 10km leading up to Korfnek pass, those little bumps and gradual uphill nearly broke me. The last climb was tough but manageable, found my 4th wind by then and could ride most of it.

They can work on the finish venue, was a bit underwhelming, and the cold shower was inexcusable. Otherwise a enjoyable race, will be back next year, better prepared and will aim to come in around 14hrs.
