I rode by Banshee Spitfire with flats for Wines to Whales...No worries.

And overtaking ppl on anything pointing down (where ppl weren't walking on singletrack   ) was super fun.

Do NOT buy a marathon bike...single purpose poo!

I'm looking at buying a new Marathon racing mountain bike. Please help me decide what bike to go for as I am not clued up enough to make a informed decision on this.

 

My options are:

KTM Scarp Master

Scott Spark RC900

Canondale Scalpel 4

Merida Ninty Six 7000

 

I never thought this decision would be so tough...

 

I do think you should add the Trek Top Fuel 9.8 to your selection.

Ive made my decision. Im getting the Scott spark 910 tomorrow morning. Cycle Lab has been really helpful and accommodating thus far. They are also making the bike a 1x11 for me with a full XT group. This is the non RC model... (not sure if there is even a RC model available in the 910) This discussion has also really helped me to make this decision. Thanks for all the input.

Excellent choice, I got mine about a month ago and I'm loving it. (I didn't do the 1x change though, kept the drive train as is)

Congrats! Great choice, you are right the RC is only available in the 900. 

 

Consider getting a quote from Hotspot as well, when I bought my Scott they had the best price. They also give extra discount if you pay with eft.

So I've ridden the bike and im soooo happy with it. The geometry is phenomenal. I do have one question about the suspension though. When I set the suspension to full lock out mode it seems to still not be 100% locked. I can still with effort push down on both the front and rear suspension. Is this normal or should I have it checked out?
