To the knob who took me out at DARLING EXTREME

So, I don't want sympathy from the Hub. Here's the story: 10km into the 75km race, some guy in B batch tries to pass my bunch on the district road. Cuts in too early, rams into my handlebar, I go down hard at 35kph. He doesn't bother stopping to see if all OK and maybe apologise.

So, to you sir, thanks for my broken finger, broken brake lever, broken shoe and broken helmet. Yes, I still finished if you're interested.

If anyone saw it happen and knows the guy, please give him a P.K. for me. All I saw was a blue sleeve.

Rant over.

How unfortunate. You may not want sympathy but I think you certainly deserve it - as well as Qdos for finishing after that. I think I would have just sat in the dust and cried a little bit before turning around and going home.

Thanks, appreciate the kind words. Some common courtesy would've been nice though. Guess it's not so common anymore.

No sympathy for you, but hats off for finishing & for mentioning it.

That kind of behaviour is bloody douchey & so against the spirit of the sport, especially a ride like darling. Love these "higher" starting batch guys, usually the older gentleman taking sh*t way too seriously trying to proove what to what?

Name & shame I say!

Speedy recovery buddy.

Ouch ...

NOT nice "behaviour" from Mr B-batch .....

Respect for pushing through and finishing.

Reminds me of a PRE-race near incident last weekend.

Lady and her 5 year old daughter cycling from the car park to where we register.  We are following, our almost 6 year old in front of me.  All 4 of us keeping way left !  Some people starting to walk back having already registered .... and WOOSHHHH comes to 2 teenagers past us, weaving through the bikes and people walking, like bike messengers..... My little one was okay, but they NEARLY connected the little girl .......

Dale I thought you were a roadie?

Road racing is the best! Skinny okes effing each other up. I love it. Tough okies.

I enjoy the relaxed vibe of mtb. Hey Bud, are you okay? Can I help you to repair that puncture. Magic guys on the MTB scene.

But for us average Joe's.

RB if you wanna go hard and be serious.

MTB if you want to be a lekker oke and help your fellow riders.

That said. There is no feeling on earth like tearing down towards the line in a road race. Argy bargy stuff testing your guts to the max.

Gotta love it.

That is really ***. I am really surprised noone else screamed at him when he hit you. Normally okes will say something, even if the guy missed and was oblivious. Heal up!
