Danny Hart has been pretty sharp on this.

"Interviewer:  So would you say the bigger wheels roll over everything?"

"DH: They all roll over everything.  It's not like people were getting stuck before."

"Ashton:  There's a lot of hate for this move saying it's an unfair advantage etc"

"DH:  I didn't hear them complain when we went from 26 to 27.5"

Ja, the shape is a bit squid-quality.  He should have worn his protective kit outside as well :P

Dunno, apart from the dayglo green which clashed dramatically with his outfit  , seems OK...

When he was on Honda he was on Formula

When he first came across to Syndicate they were a full SRAM team.

Only when they went to Fox/Shimano did he switch to Shimano.

You were expecting something along the lines of "have you seen him use them? Well, now you know why..."

:P

Though I'm sure that refers to Gwin's tektros. That's why he's been going off course so often.

you don't need to slow down to win DH races, but what do i know. ima roadie

During the first race at Lourdes, Redbull interviewed a rider, and I cannot remember who it was (maybe Luca Shaw, but a wild guess), and asked whether he thinks his time would improve because of the 29er wheels he was riding on.

His response; "c'mon... it's still just a bicycle..."

I quite liked that.

IMO wheel size has nothing to do with how fast these guys go; it's rather the size of something(s) in the gentleman's region. If you know what I mean...

My thoughts as well.

I think this wheel size thing in mtb and downhill is the same as the 4x4 guys with Toyota/Ford/VW/ whateveryoudrive - It does not matter..

It's just a bike. These guys would have been testing it for the last how many years.
