pumped up that high will be difficult to claim the tire was faulty

and your average track pumps gauge isn't spot on either

so yeah schools fees

buy a another tire

depending on what you and bike weigh about 100 psi should be fine

Note: Pressure depends on weight of rider. So if you are a light weight, 8 bars are not really needed

I've been riding gatorskins for years at 8 bar, and never had an issue.

New tyres go with new tubes, and if rim tape does not look 110% good, that gets replaced as well.

This approach served me well over the years.

Agree with DR. I weight just over 100k and ride mine on 8bar (120psi) and had no issues to date. Can't see why people would say "buy another tyre" when you were within the limit of the pressure setting. Take it back and argue your point. Could have been a weakness in the tyre wall.

If you had a pinched tube it could cause a problem but then did you fit the tyres properly? If so ... argue.

I've been riding Gatorskins for a while now, I'm around 76kg and always ride them at 8 bar no issues... 2nd set and not a days trouble

So could be a tyre fault... take it back and claim your warranty

I find this whole debate odd.

Why did you post in your first thread if a gatorskin is a good option?

Your second thread you state you bought it and it failed.

Haven't heard of a gatorskin that has failed before, maybe you were just bad luck.

Im just concerned your next thread will be that bikeshop ABC doesn't want to do a warranty claim.

Huh?

If the recommended pressure is 8.5, why do you say 8 is too high?

8 bar is pretty standard for a clincher tyre, in fact every tyre I've ever owned over the years have 8-8.5 as standard.

I say warranty is the way to go.
