BTW, Trailtag's results is wrong for the 45. It compensates for the B batch riders starting 5 minutes later according to the official schedule, yet at start they decided that A and B must start together.

They must not do things like that. Mess up things for the people keeping timing and results. I know it is just a fun ride, but these things keep on happening with Dirtopia races.

Just reminded me again today why I enjoy the vibe and race (tag system excluded). Was not sure about it after doing the Nissan Trailseeker but gave it a go. Saw some hub faces at the start but they flew so fast out of the chutes never to be seen again.

Thanks to all for the organisation of the event and will be back next year. Not sure about the latish start (9am) but sure there must be a reason.

A pity we were all there exposed in the sun. Last year we were under the trees. I think more people would have stayed on after the race if we were under the shady trees.

But I also enjoyed the race. Chatted to a few people on the road, and the ST manners were all good.

Agree about the final area, was not sure of it was due to issues before on the lawn area or of they wanted to get the finish closer to where the general festivities were being held.

The behaviour of all on the trails were tip top and think the long start before the ST must make things easier with bottelneck. The only bottlenecks we found was on that last bit of ST before the end and generally the slower riders got out of the way after a friendly.. do you mind if I can pass when it is safe to do so...

Enjoyed a relaxed 30km with the Mrs yesterday. Decided to dust off her bike and sign her up at the last minute. Luckily for me it was a very enjoyable outing.

It was also great meeting and chatting with Ariane afterwards.

The new chill zone was not ideal. Far too little shade and some of the Spur benches/seating was set out right in the middle of the sunshine. Maybe this was a last minute change to the venue. Anyway, we grabbed our food and went to sit in the shade closer to the carpark but it would've been nice to chill closer to where post event festivities were.

That said, we will be back next year anyway.

I saw 3 Savages at 7weekspoort on Saturday of which one in particular was really flying

Yup, the couple was our head of design and the other is our mountain goat! He came 4th I think and first in the old man category :P

Never did the one at Lourensford, but am sad to see it not happening again this year, especially with the Stell MTB not doing those trails this year.  But in the end it was probably a decision between maintaining the investment in the schools league vs a single event.
