igg Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 I was really happy with a henge saddle from a comfort perspective. Just developed play where the rails join the saddle after only 3 months use on a hardtail. I have an old fizik tundra that has stood up to some serious abuse and has held up really well. Pity it is like sitting on a plank. That's a warranty claim if you're the first owner and have the slip. What's happening is the glue is breaking and the rails are no longer secure; they'll develop all kinds of play and squeaking if you leave it.
EmptyB Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Voted but since fitting Spez power saddle 8 months ago....no problems
Cyclewizz Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 I'm a Selle SLR fan. Been using various SLR saddles for a good few years and no problems.Even bought a Chinese copy some time back and that also fits well. Did the 200km audax and had no problems or pain.
Furbz Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 took me 6x saddles to find the one that works for me.Specialized Romin. try until you find the one that works.i bought second hand to try keep testing costs low. nothing worse than an uncomfortable saddle
Pikey Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Tried many .... until I find the power saddle. Started on 143 for both road & Mnt.Then when going to buy another 143 I decided to get a sized . And 155 is the number unbelievably. Never have any saddle discomfort any more . Regardless of time & distance .
SuperDooperSnooper Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 took me 6x saddles to find the one that works for me.Specialized Romin. try until you find the one that works.i bought second hand to try keep testing costs low. nothing worse than an uncomfortable saddle+1 on trying out second hand saddles first. Just don't forget to sell them on again if not suitable - I ended up with quite a remarkable collection of "testers". Even got labeled as having a saddle fetish... Ended up with a choice between an Ergon SME3 or Fabric line, both of which are quite comfy. Any remaining issues I blame on not forking out for R3k+ Italian bibshorts yet...

Traveler Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/fabric-saddle-line-shallow-elite-134mm thinking of getting a Fabric saddle. any reviews?Fabric on all my bikes, specifically the Scoop. Never ridden such a comfortable saddle, have ridden more than one 24hr event on it. And have ridden 2x 50day consecutive challenges dare I say no discomfort or pain. Very durable also.
eccc whippet Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 different saddles on the different bikes...what i have learnt...when i started riding every saddle was uncomfortable...got stronger and at the same time got use to the saddles....didnt ride for a while and the saddles got uncomfortable...no matter which bib i wear. it seems that the stronger you get the more you use the power in your legs to ease the weight on the saddle and the chaffing...when you dont ride a lot...you sit heavier on the saddle and rest more with all your weight on the saddle...which causes discomfort. so for now i use a table spoon of crack cream instead of a teaspoon...until my legs get stronger...then i can cut back on the cream. i hear so many people say the top of the saddle must level...front to back...yet if you look into the design of the different saddles you will see they are designed at certain angles for the different type of rider and the position. right or wrong ?...just sharing what i have experienced.
Shebeen Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Hard to answer in go as I do different sort of trying my bikes. The real long adventure stuff has my Murray tour de force orthopedic saddle. Might be handmade carbon from veldrif and Ugly as aru, butt it is amazing. Did a 5 day AR in may and never even used bummer cream until the final stage. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/115413-saddles-handmade-by-graeme-murry/page-1
