Jehosefat Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 I love the Hope F/Hub sound .... except when I have the bike on the stand and I am trying to set the rear brake and wanting to hear if there is any "ching, ching ching" when freewheeling .... because all you hear is ratatata-ratatata-ratatata-ratatata-ratatata-ratatata- Take the chain off and spin it the other way?
Hairy Posted May 11, 2018 Author Posted May 11, 2018 Take the chain off and spin it the other way?too much effort ... just learnt to rotate the crank with the spare hand at a steady cadence to keep the pawls engaged a fellow rider asked me if the hub is meant to make that noise as it sounds like something is wrong, granted he has not been around cycling too long, or more specifically mountain biking, so I kept it simple and told him he has no class

V12man Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 you see I have this stupid fooking Hope XD F/Hub body on my wheelset ... already checked with Kiwi if he had a Sunrace that is XD compatible and unfortunately he does not.want to trade your hope xd driver for a hope 10 speed freehub? Might be able to help out here....

I have just saved about R1000 by not ordering a fork part locally. My part will be delivered by a family member. I also wont be waiting much more than I would had I ordered locally because it would only have arrived in 2 months anyway...

Everyone in SA sees the international prices and does the ZAR conversion, including the VAT etc, and sees how raped we are getting, and then just get p1ssed off at the local agents. I go out of my way to circumvent the local guys for this reason. I would buy more locally if they just cooled off on this a bit
