I need to know how I can find out what year my used bike I bought on the hub (from a dealer) is. Its a Bianchi Sempre, I was told it was a 2015 model, now I was told when I took it in for a repair that its either a 2012 or 2013 model. Serial no TC 1306357-570-CK

I would appreciate it if someone could assist

Hi, Pics will help, yes.

Couple of things to note: It is possible for a 2012 or 2013 bike to have been sold for the first time as new in 2015 which sometimes confuses the matter as some people quote YM as the year they bought it and not the model year.

Also possible for a 2018 bike to have been bought in 2017 as MY18 bikes have already hit our shores.

I really get annoyed when bikes are offered for sale with the incorrect year that the model came out.  If you don't know and are too lazy to research it rather leave the year blank.  I've recently seen a bike last made in 2008 advertised as 2012 at a price close to the original retail.

If the makes are sold in the USA bikepedia.com is useful for reference as they list the year colours and components and in what other years that model was made.

Another pet hate is listing the bike with eg "full Ultegra" and not indicating the speed of the groupset.  It dose make a difference.

I think guys deliberately lie about the year without realising that there are ways to determine the actual age.

Like the guy claiming his Giant was a 2009 model. It had a quill headset, which Giant stopped using in 1999.

Contacting Bianchi with the serial number of the bicycle may allow for model or year identification.

Edit:

And after a short search it seems as if the wording "may allow for model or year identification" is more apt than I would have thought.
