Feel sorry for Jean Biermans, tough decision but the right one. Still a MASSIVE achievement just finishing the race nevertheless.

MM is on fire, he is a machine. Nice bike that he rides. Also, he only carries one bottle and a Camelback.

The last climb at 1050kms is only 300m or so .... don't think he will even notice it !!

He is home and dry barring a mechanical or crash....

only 300m you say? Thats Bain Kloof Pass, with 1000km in the legs, drained body, that will feel like Everest, P.s. the profile doesnt do that climb justice, Its long.

Tracker hasn't reported for 18min....so might be an error. You never know.

Hopefully he's on the right track....or has noticed it. Any extra meters are too much!!

Good luck guys and gals

It was the same last year with the mountains.  Whilst not much of a big deal with the front runners... when we moved to watching the back markers and the looming cut-off time, often they would go awol in the dead zone and we would not get a proper update until they had passed the finish line.... it was frustrating!!

Freek Van Tonder has put the hammer down!!  Him and JD left Sutherland at the same time, but there's now almost 20km between them and he's right on the heels of Sthembiso!

I've just pinged Pieter to beware but his tracker hasn't updated for over an hour.
