I just use an old skewer and 3 cable ties. 1 big'ish loop around the chain, 2 to hold the big loop to the skewer.

shaper Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 me, i just remove the RD from the frame so that it is loose and does not get bent should the travel bag take a knock in that position... i then put the RD and loose chain in a plastic bag wrap tightly and with some bubble wrap.... so no need for a chain keeper to take up the slack in the chain

Then strap the plastic bag suspended between the seat stays (spelling) and know the RD is well protected.
