Ok, will be a fun day, seems that weather wise it is looking good, with the exception of a bit of heat around Wellington.

But I was thinking, there are probably going to be a 90 / 10 split at the race between road bikes and mtbs right?  Going to stand out more than at the One Tonner

i'm dreading hells after the R44 rollers .. hopefully few guys saving legs for DC :)

Nope, going hard and fast like the devil himself is chasing us all the way to the base and up Helshoogte! :w00t:

Oh boy oh boy oh boy. That was a race I soooo enjoyed (not so much the 40min before when I mis- stepped and got a gash on my leg that will probably need a stich or two. Luckily it was not so bad that it stopped me enjoying the race.

First off, the weather... could there be better without it being called cheating. No wind, moderate temp, etc.

Second off the route, I so much prefer it over both the Stell Cycle and the One Tonner. Nice fast start to warm up the legs before hitting Hellshoogte at around 27km, did of course underestimate the Windmeul though.

Thirdly the fellow riders was such a joy with some nice chats

Lastly, felt very safe on the roads, not sure if it was all the marshalls or early start, we even had one of the mobile medical vehicles protecting our behinds for some stretches through Wellington.

All in all big thanks to PPA for organising the race. Hope it continues for many years.

Another high caffeinated effort by Pure Sausage, uhm, Pure Savage in A bunch.

Did that early break stick?

I blerrie had a slow puncture in the finalè, bombed it and chased like Sep van Marcke having a tummy bug. ????

@andydude

Well controlled race, man ????????

Hope everyone made it safely to the white chalk as heat was rising in the Boland.????

Another fun day on bike.. I Still suck up hells, but who cares :-)

From the results I find it interesting that groups broke up in many tiny slithers (2-3min gaps) and from results very few back groups cought up with faster ones. (Of course , I might be illusional)

Those two kickers before hells definitely made race much more interesting. Really hope its in cards again next season

Edit: hope all the crash victims are ok

What I liked about the race, even thought it is mostly the Stell Cycle race, the change of starting point changed the race quite a bit, I know it is not always practical to change the starting point or to switch the direction but it really adds a different dimension to a race.

Nice fun ride, I did not race and managed to get in under 3:30. Took me just under an hour to redo the first 18km back to Welgevonden after the ride.

Well done PPA for organising this.

Just wondering if anyone knows who was involved in that Group C-E crash going passed Boschendal? Really nasty fall and I hope all involved are okay.

Happened just behind me. Sounded horrible.. but a crash always does. It seems that every race, there is a crash in C batch.
