SA retailers still totally missing the mark with Black Friday in my book... maybe I'm cynical, maybe we just don't have the buying power, but there were a couple things I was hoping would be on great deals (Nutribullet/Bar Fridge/Fenix 3/Cheap Mtb Wheels) and I've yet to find anything close to getting my card out...

Go check takealot, they have a Fenix 3 on special, just seen now, around 7 gorillas if not mistaken?

I tried to purchase some camera goodies and the 3D authentication process is taking allot of strain.

The entire chain is in trouble. From the sms system to the actual banking system.

Think I will rather keep my money under the pillow for when someone who has over extended their card right before the christmas season "specials" wants to sell something urgently.

You're just proving my point... that's not even a special. You can buy new ones in the classifieds on here for way less - and that's from guys with considerably less buying power.

Fenix 3 Black Friday special should be around R3-4k in my books considering the 5 has been out for a long time already

Some cheap mtb wheels... not the biggest variety in choice, but if they suit your needs it's a great deal! 40% of the already discounted price (by using "blackfriday" coupon on checkout), so comes to R3000...

I did see that, looks a good deal, I just really don't know the brand/backup etc... was hoping for something like SLX level Shimano for around R2.5k - they are literally to planned to chuck some Slicks on for my two road outings each year.

I'm the importer, so I am biased, but Funn make some top notch stuff

I was going to say that 40% off code (even of the sale stuff) is a proper black friday deal! Thanks for that. I can vouch that Funn are great  (had bars and stems) and those carbon bars are burly. For R600 odd that makes me cry.

Any one see's any good phone deals please let me know. I'm pretty much living in the mid 90's with my back up phone - kids can kill a new upgrade in seconds leaving you in the comm's wastelands.

My wife went to get groceries this morning, and people are fuming.

Pretty much all the banks are taking strain.

Interestingly, where she was was mostly retired people trying to buy their monthly groceries, apparently. That's bad.

I bought some items from Ciovita (a shirt, a jacket, and cycling shorts for a year: https://za.ciovita.com/collections/black-friday), and Payfast also had a hiccup initially.

Nedbank was down hard this morning. So if the retailer was using Nedbank to process card transactions, all bank cards were failing, and no Nedbank cards could be used on another bank's machines.

There were also some reports of ABSA and FNB having some issues.

Hummm... does Checkers Liquor for a case of Black label on special seem like a good idea then???

Would love to see how many of the massively discounted items are actually available for purchase. Some items appear to just be listed as already "sold out" from the start. Also, everyone touting their products for sale at the biggest discounts of the year, lets screenshot a couple of these unbeatable deals for reference later in the year.
