So gave it a test today, worked perfectly for my 29x2.2/2.25 tyres.

Filled it to 120psi and each tyre seated first time, and had my preferred ridding pressure left behind in each too.

Does what it's means too, beyond that, who cares.

Picked up one of these yesterday.

Tried it with some road tubeless.

Didn't have the snap pop that I was anticipating, but perhaps due to the tyres rather than the tank itself.

Also needed two goes at each tyre.

Will try it with some other combos before passing judgement.

Did you leave the (wheel) inner valve in place.  I have found that it is a bit of a mission, but generally it seats quicker without the valve in the way

Will try your suggestion next time.

Went to look at the thing at the shop. was much bigger than it looked on the pictures. But I also think that it is best to buy the correct tool / equipment for the job if you can afford it

I looked at many backs, and this by far looks like the best one, but it's a low pressure canister designed to disperse liquid, I have one in my garage and it's how the bike gets washed owing to current water conditions, but I would not trust that thing with the 145cc at 120psi I need to seat my tire.

If I recall I paid around R150 for my 5l water sprayer thingy, after spending 25k on a bike, I am not going to cringe at R600 for a purpose built tool that will last me many many years to come.

If that things safety valve fails, and hell it's R150, it's not exactly a precision tool, and your filling it with more air than what would be used for its purpose, you quite literally looking at a grenade here, while it is not a probably scenario, it's a far more likely one than if you were to use any of the various purpose built options. When it comes to safety, I tend to air on the side of spending more money, as they say, goed koop goed koop is duur koop.

I am with you on this one. Never mess with a pressure vessel, it will only end in tears.

I am DIY challenged - how would you inflate without the valve or am I missing something as I just bought the Giant tank and am battling seating the tyres

Helps to seat tyre the first time without valve in place. Once it's seated you reinsert the valve and pump up like normal

You need the valve stem to be in place but you take the core out of it to aid airflow when you first inflate it to seat the tyre into the bead. Then all the air comes out when you detach the pump to insert the valve core. Finally you pump it up as normal.
