I dont think the racetec team was there this morning to assist. They have snapscan which makes things easier. Not sure why they would not be there?

I just sat in the A bunch and waited for my team principle (my old man) to bring me the sticker :P

Sho, fun day of suffering on a bike after that.

see you bombed a bit at 2 hrs , not enough food?

You just made me realize that I didn't eat anything during the race. So it might have been one of the reason.

It was also the first time for me racing in B-C and the pace was for sure not what I'm used to.

Americo, thanks for sharing the vid. I was in your group and saw a fair bit of footage of myself in your video.  I'm also new to B-C and agree about the pace. Hope to find it easier going at the Bouckaert Soenen.

I'm guessing the expletive at the end was because you didn't sprint for the line

LOL . . I was freaking out because I had the impression of having a flat and I just wanted to arrive at the finish line.

dont be scared of the front of the bunch, promise its not that bad

Hmmm, not so sure . . will need more races before keeping up with the guys in front.

Btw have you seen how strong the ladies were? Shame for the young one who dropped the chain almost at the end of the race.

Who else enjoyed the race/fun ride this morning, weatherwise I doubt it could have been any better or perfect. We left in N-P batch and then as we started we saw a Pure Savage do some low level flying past us from a later batch.

Must have seen me then, as I was also on a MTB, with knobbies this time, that first few km it felt like my wheels was sticking to the tar :)

But overall was a great day out there

It started off a little bit cold, but that kept everyone nicely together until Helshoogte when the fog cleared. All and all it was a good race with a great result.

Awesome day out, really enjoying this series - was fun to ride what was mostly the Tour of Stellenbosch route with smaller groups in more of a "fun ride" environment. Helshoogte always inflicts its pain, but from there nice fast pace. Started in E-G, we had a nice pace line going on the front with about 6 guys and one lady working well together. Although it was a "race", great to see some very sensible riding through some of the more dicey sections on the stretch back into Stellenbosch with Taxis and traffic being quite a challenge. A big thanks to the guy from C batch who did some extra long pulls near the end to get everyone home in a good time.

We passed two accidents, hope both guys are ok - medical and race support was good as always. Now to decide if I'm going to brave the middle of winter for the next one!

I like the format of these races alot, Glad to hear there was sensible riding, would be interesting in the top batches to how it went.  What did make me smile is that section from Klapmuts where the road surface is very rough, but assuming the chances of falling there is less than Chappies where they complained about the road

Some of you make this sound like lots of fun ... I may just be tempted to join. :)

Wasn't there also WPCycling crit today.?

Pity about the clash of dates if there was.
