Was on leave for a week and a half, dropped down to 6th because of that.

I'll also be out for a month from mid May to mid June.

Good news is that my winter kit arrived today. Fully waterproof jacket, waterproof booties and some thermal 3/4 bibs. Planning to make up some ground on days when everybody else chickens out  :P

you are going to be soaked inside all that kit while cycling in CT...... also not going to be a chicken when the weather turns bad :P

Got a good soak on my way home yesterday, but it was actually enjoyable.  Just hid away for 10 minutes close to the halfway point as there was quite a thunderstorm but as the lightning passed I continued when a good shower came down.  Although only 12 degrees it was not too cold.  Predictions are that I will propable get soaked again this afternoon.

i had a look at Endomondo for the first time since my accident - dropped from 3rd to 11th. I'm only allowed back outside on my bike in September so not much time for me to catch up :)

It's been a crazy / interesting experience but recovery is going well and happy that it wasn't worse given the size of the jeep! Crash was on my commute to work on 27th of Feb.

I'm still surprised / shocked that I didn't manage to avoid it / stop in time as my 2.5 years of commuting and 10 + years of motorbiking experience let me down badly for the first time.in a while (I have written 2 motorbikes off but wasn't injured x 2).

I hope this photo won't shock anyone else I'll remove it. You can see my broken pelvis sticking up and the bottom part of my helmet on the right.

Be safe out there!

Great socks indeed :)

Thanks for the encouraging comments.

I commuted with my alu Giant 26' XTC but had put a carbon SID xx fork on (as my original leaked badly) not so long ago which snapped off on impact - maybe that saved my life :)

Brake cables in bad condition and haven't looked at the bike in detail but wheels and frame seem ok... I still have some time to get it sorted.

I'm spinning the legs 30 mins a day so starting to feel human again - think after the brain impact my biggest battle is my lack of exercise after doing sport almost every day.

Glad to hear the recovery is going well. No doubt those years of staying active will help speed up your recovery. We can't wait to see your commuter miles start ticking up again.....

Stay patient, stay positive, stay grateful. You'll be on the road again soon!

It felt a bit unfair when I overtook you a while ago ...

Glad you're back, even for just 30 minutes spinning. Take care and get well soon.

Got nice and drenched this morning on the commute.

How is everyone going with their commute now that winter has arrived?

Glad you guys are getting some rain!

Havent touched the bike since my commute home on 11th April. MISSING IT BIG TIME!!! Been allowed to drive for the last week or so and although the drive to and from work is in off peak times so traffic is non existent, it still sucks a lot.

Slow this week but not due to Winter but leave.  Will be back in the office for 3 days next week.  Then a full week again then the week after only a two day week.

I got a taste for the third spot last week Friday in the challange before Imploder kicked me off again ;)

Yeah, temps have definitely dropped significantly here in good 'ole Gauteng. We are now faced with an internal war, of desires. The one desire - avoid the cold and dark in the morning, the other - to experience the most perfect clear blue, beautiful autumn afternoons ever.

So far the latter keeps winning!

I did not pick up a drop of water this morning ... on Thursday mornings I commute about 5km to a friends house, load my bike in her van SWITCH OFF ENDOMONDO :P and then get a lift into town for coffee and breakfast .... I missed the rain by less than 5min, but by all accounts from the rest of our commute group, and the pics they posted of wet kit at the office, they got properly drenched.
