Shebeen Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 The whole team behind the crash, after we discussed it yesterday, They want to be close to Cummings it seems, was sad last year when they signed him again.Its like they do not learn but Kelderman and Pinot was also at the back so it is not only them.It was 25kms out, and really bad "traffic management" by the organisersbut it wasn't a huge splitthey should really have pulled it back, but EF put the hammer down and that was it.

Or just back Ashleigh to go the distance......I am clutching a bit at straws here with Louis....perhaps the Vuelta will stand him in good stead for Worlds????

Jewbacca Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 As far as I have it SA can send three riders this year , it depends on the UCI points.The course is a bit more of a climber course than previous years(4500m climbing for the day) so LM in good form will probably not be a bad pick.But has he seen anything other than poor form since the Tour 2017?

Crashes during a stage are an unwelcome but not unexpected part of racing, but riders expect to be safe from incidents once they cross the finish line. That was not the case after stage 6 of the Vuelta a Espana when a low-flying helicopter blew unsecured barriers across the road and into unsuspecting riders. Cyclingnews
