Good day everybody.

Both my feet (big toe's) has got some damage/symptoms that was caused by gout. I Have changed my diet (eating and drinking) and is also on prescription medication to keep my uric acid level under control. For the last three weeks I have had an annoying spiking kind of pain in my left foot. I Feel the pain in the front part of the ball of my foot. The pain is not constant but more like a spike for a couple of steps. Sometimes I can walk for an hour with no pain and suddenly it would strike again. I Don't know if it's possible but it almost feels like I'm stepping on a nerve or something. I Would like to get a professional opinion if anything can be done to improve the condition of my feet. Can anybody recommend a good orthopedic surgeon that specialises in foot injuries ? Anywhere in Gauteng is fine. Thanks. John.

Off topic but when I see talus being mentioned I found it funny that last year(I think?), Talus won a pair of giro empire shoes in the TDF fantasy league competition.

and a hubber. win win win

And a fine human being - he's always helping people out - he supported a Qhubeka charity drive I did a few years back.

Top bloke!

If I may ask - are you diabetic?

No not diabetic. I Do the "Full Monty" tests and checks annually. The only thing that is not within limits is my uric acid.

Sounds like Morton's neuroma. Surgery should be your very last option.

+1 on Morton's. Struggling with the same problem. Had insoles made, got shoes with wider toe-box and moved cleats back. Seems to be working.

Go and see Talus.

This is his field of expertise and I am sure he will make an accurate diagnosis.
