I've not ridden any of those but I have recently ridden an Intense Primer and really loved that. Rode it at the Glen & Boschendal and loved it. It was unreal how it didn't feel like a big ol bus like most 29ers i've been on feel like when it comes to the twisties. I really can't rate this bike highly enough.

I'm not sure about the availability of frames.

I was going to post something very similar, but then I'd sound like I'm gushing

Primer punches WAY above it's weight ito travel, and it climbs like a demon. And it's light. And oh so pretty!  :w00t:  OK, now I'm gushing.

If you ride a medium you're in luck https://www.merlincycles.com/intense-primer-sl-29-mountain-bike-frame-2017-103075.html

That was on my list then as Evans had them on clearance but then I ready a few vanilla reviews about them & crossed them off. Now when I look all the reviews seems great.

Seem to be frames on special in the UK alot. 2017 ones.

Check with the local chaps if they don't have a 2017 frame on sale too. They had a few available last year. I think Hangar Bike Co. are the agents.

I have a large. Pity you're in the Cape otherwise you'd be welcome to test it out. It really is a fun bike.

That is kind. I might see if they have a test bike. I have seen them there before.

It's not a 29'r but I have found this at the upper end of my budget. £1199 off RRP on the frame on clearance. With the coil shock.

When I rode it it wasn't just climb on and ride. The front end felt divey and the rear end bucked a bit but a bit of fiddling made it great.

Intense locally have gone direct model and have very limited stock. Have asked if they have a Primer or a demo.

OOOOOOOH!

On the limit of budget and would need new wheels and good ones as well as a new fork. Too much of a stretch when I can swap all my 29 equipment to another 29. It is unique.

Yeah my bike took a good few rides to get dialled in. Very different setup to the Pyga.

From reports I've read, the Hightower seems to be Santa's steamroller. Not as rowdy as a Nomad, but ploughs through chunder faster than a fat kid through cupcakes.

I was gonna say the High tower, but a great list/choice of bikes. You see lots of Hightowers around Tokai
