Spokes magically breaking. Cpt

Let's Ride

Haven't ridden this bike forever and just noticed the spokes are snapping in the middle.

Looking for a good wheel builder near me hopefully not too expensive.

I am based in Bergvliet.

Will appreciate any contacts.

Interesting break especially if it snapped while stored.

As for repair, what about Bikemob in Westlake, or Bridge in Diepriver.?

There's also the LifeCycle store in Tokai or Speedy Cycles in Wynnerg.

Coincidence that they all broke close to the wall mount? :/

I think so. If the weight of the bike in the stored position could cause them to break, there is no way I would ever ride it with my fat ass

I remember JB giving us k@k about the different forces on spokes. They are not designed to have "pull" forces on them. I seem to recall that he said spokes "Carry weight"

Lets start this debate again ............

Can you see a rust spot at the breaks or shiny metal only. ?

If you can see a rust spot it could be that the spokes were nicked during riding and then corrosion took over.

If there is no corrosion can you see any tool marks ?

Use a magnifying glass it will help.
