Marvel Bike Lights

Does anyone own one of the Marvel bike lights? I see CWCycles sells them at pretty low prices. However I'm unsure how they perform and whether they are worth it quality wise (in fact very little info is available on long term use, quality etc). Specifically the higher output models:

Knight Rider 1800 lumen light, and

Marvel Blast 2200 lumen light

I'd also like to know how they perform for trail riding.

Are they worth buying?

I have two 1000 lumen lights, they are good. Use the light on high beam and it lasts our whole ride which is about 3 hours. One medium it should last more than double.

  • 4 months later...

I have a 900 lumen

Very happy, beam has n small bright focus point. I would have liked a smaller focus point and more "flooded" for road riding, but for the trail I guess that focus point is important.

best of all is, when it breaks you can buy a new one.

Battery lasts about 8 hours on blink, almost 3 on high and 5 on medium.

My mate and I each purchased a Marvel Blast 2200 a few months back.

They work brilliantly and come in super handy during load shedding- lights up half my home

I found these to be really good price, they arent as "smart" as the Stellenbosch lights nor do they last as long. But for the price you pay you can get 4 lights over 3 years for the cost of the Stell one.

If I was doing a MTB night race, not sure if I would find my 1200 powerful enough.

My R3K+  Stellenbosch light battery died.

was stored fully charged as they recommended.

Outside warrantee period.

Really have some thoughts if I should get a  plus minus R1K replacement battery from them, or just a cheaper light.

To be honest I was not really that impressed from day one with this "Stellenbosch light" - overpriced if compared it to some Chinese lights...

Just have the battery repacked with proper cells.

Of the rear lights, I like the Marvel Streak.

The rest belong in the bin.

Headlights are much of a muchness of the chinese stuff

or just buy the Marvel R299 battery pack?

Decided to rather buy a Marval light (R650 : 2200 lumens... for what's its worth)  and a 6 cell spare MARVAL battery @ R199. than replacing my Extreme light's battery at R850.

CWC order on its way.

cant wait to test this R650 light with (4  bulbs) against my  Extreme light with the same new battery... :whistling:

Interested to know what those two lights look like side by side, especially the colour tint!
