I can't believe no one has seen this. Title reads " An-Li Kachelhoffer - Guilty of Anti-Doping". So she is not a doper, she is an anit-doper. Grammar standards on the hub are slipping.

It is always the athletes responsibility ..

This is true.

But the person I spoke to said that when he/she got sick, the doc prescribed meds. He/she informed the doc the meds is on the naughty list.

The doc said fine, we do a TUE.

They send it in and many many months later they were asked to come and give answers to the request for the TUE.

The person did one race during this period. Just a local race. If the person said nothing, and was not tested, no one would have known.

They tried to do the right thing and because there was insufficient medical reason supplied by the doc to justify the use of the no-no substance, person is now serving a ban and branded as a doper.

I think the branding by society is a far harsher penalty than the sanction itself.

I honsetly believe that the intent to dope is not always as clear as it seems.

did anybody welcomed the OP properly?

new on HUB - member since yesterday...or maybe not... ^_^

He/she did get the normal Hub welcome of accusations and insults. . .

Can't believe someone would dare to post something of interest and intrigue with out posting at least 100 posts of twaddle on other threads first, how dare he/her. . .

Are you trying to defend the fact that she had family plans as an excuse to take Salbutamol??? REALLY??

Medical journals have suggested that if you take Salbutamol during pregnancy it reduces the chance that your child will grow up with asthma. This is why Froome is taking it.

How a TUE works is - you get the TUE THEN you take the medication.

Trusting a doctor above SAIDS is pretty brave/naive.

Agreed that the TUE process should be way faster - as in hours/days because medication should be taken during illness not months after....but you don't take illegal substances unless you have several certified copies from SAIDS - the doctor doesn't do the testing.

Of course this is all with the benefit of hindsight.

There is no certainty that a retrospective TUE will be granted.

There are plenty meds out there that will help with illness/injury that isn't banned..if you need the banned meds then perhaps that athlete should not be racing at that time.

OP still only has 1 post as of now. Scared off by mob or started the fire and sitting back to see what happens.

I'll put my money on the second option :whistling:

That's pretty much my take - I would not take the drugs first...retro TUE is a huge gamble.

Also MJ said his mate didn't race for 6 months afterwards so what was the big hurry to take the drugs and heal up?

I think everyone should rather read the complete hearing document before going on a rampage on someone very well respected:

http://www.drugfreesport.org.za/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/SAIDS-v-An-Li-Kachelhoffer.pdf

1. She has not been riding competitively at that point

2. She is\was pregnant

3. She told the dr that she is a pro athlete, and trusted him

Please read before making a judgement

Why has this not been made public? Not a word from CSA, An-Li or Team Bestmed(who she was riding for at the time). Was there money involved to keep it under the radar......
