Jonkershoek attack/robbed?

While looking for a  post on Facebook I saw another post  about a group that was attacked or robbed this week 2km from the gate, inside the Jonkershoek Nature Reserve. Going back to look for the Jonkershoek post I now cannot find it. Also do not see anything here.

 

Anyone know more? Sad if true and word should be put out there as a warning to all of us that love Jonkers.

Cycled there this morning No issues, encountered lots of riders and hikers etc.A couple of people did raise their concern at the gate, was told that it was a couple of mischievous kids.

I am by no means trying to downplay the incident, this is indeed a concern etc. I had a chat to the guy at the gate and he said that they know the kids(perpetrators) as they sometimes catch fish in the dam etc. What I meant to say is that Jonkershoek has not been infiltrated by hardened criminals.... as with all places...be vigilant and never let your guard down..

Over exaggeration in that Watsapp. "Robbed... armed assailants...knife". I understand from others that this is a distortion of the facts of the incident. Probably why the original Watsapp post disappeared.

So what happened?

Did perps stop the ladies and demanded their possessions? We're they armed?

Or did they just harass the ladies and the ladies felt threatened?

Because either way, if someone made anyone feel threatened, then it's not on and it needs to be sorted out.
