Try a signwriting shop for some off cuts of their self adhesive vinyl , they may have some in pretty colours too.

Get the BBB one that is for the down tube. It is thicker then normal vinyl. Just cut the size you want.

If you're not too concerned about what your friends will think, good old insulation tape does the trick too.... and it comes in a variety of colours

Bowman's cycles (Bree Street, Cape Town) sorted me out the last time I was looking for a chain protector. They gave me a piece of a sheet of the clear/seethrough plastic.

For pre-cut film, BBB does a carbon fibre & clear kit.

I bought a kit from Coimbra Cycles in PE. It cost R75.00.

 

All the pieces were pre-cut and included 2 chain stay protectors and a whole lot of little circles for each different part where the cable touches the frame. It was also BBB product.

found the BBB tube skin for 75 bucks at epic bike shop.......thick, sticky and textured......

tried the BBB skins and found they come off and leave the sticky part on the bike when you wash it - they don't seem to be water proof

Used the BBB stuff with out any problems.

 

Use 3M black insulation tape for almost everthing else.

The BBB kit is very convenient and also seems to be of a more

durable plastic than just a normal clear adhesive covering.

 

I have also successfully used self adhesive tube patches, which work

quite nicely for cables...
