porqui Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 Simplest and most cost effective DIY Buy some Prepsol or Clean Green and a 1 liter spray bottleDilute Prepsol 1:1 waterLightly spray down bike with water (hose)Now spray Prepsol mix all over bikeLeave for 10 minutesLightly rinse down bikeUse dishwash brush here and thereWipedown with cloth. Added plus is this way you get to see possible problem areas that may need attention Just DO it - it's therapeutic That mix will clean chain tooLet chain dry and oil with motor oil As Trump would say "BEST OILER EVER"

In my experience if you're asking someone else to do even the most basic bike care tasks you're most probably gonna be running into more serious problems in the future.

You mow your own lawn (Fri afternoon before you put your tjopie on the braai!)

As long as you're not too good to do ot yourself... And as Coppi said, when a 20yr old does it, it just grates my cheese - that's kinda the years where you need to be learning life's lessons if I can put it like that. Those are just my "things"... But, back to the topic here, paying someone to wash your bike is just taking it a few steps to far in my books.
