Isn't Buycycle amazing?

Sorry that Buycycle was dragged into this. I have only had good dealings with you guys.

People on Bikehub are notoriously sceptical of 1st post wonders and these suspiciouns are usually affirmed by dodgy posts and thus our preconceived ideas are confirmed and strengthened.

Dishonest people don't take into account the damage they do to our social fabric. As a result we all become less trusting, and more cynical.

Don't know how we turn things around IMHO.

The signs of the time, my view is that people (not just hubbers) are becoming more and more intolerant, especially because they feel that there are so many scammers out there and these instances provides them a chance to play the "hero" safeguarding society, irrespective of the facts (shoot first ask questions later).

And attacking the attackers does also not help, rather focus on being an example for them on better ways to engage on the hub and life. And if the facts do confirm it to be a scam then you address it as such.

And I do hope Johan will participate again on the hub , as we can do with positive news

Not going to lie, this is pretty toxic some people hey just likes assuming the worst and can't wait to point it out.

Ease up on the flagellation - bike hub ribbing is good natured and lighthearted - OP deserved to be given a bit of a go ,if not for anything other than walking into his own door! If you think this was toxic, I suggest you go over to buycyle and purchase a HTFU bracelet or a set of big girl panties!  No emotions were harmed in this thread.

Hey Hubbers,

Promise we did not pay the guy to make a post nor is it a family member or friend. We we're also contacted by the Hub management and were asked if this was the case... We respect their zero tolerance for these attempts at guerrilla marketing.

We were able to send proof that the OP is indeed from Wildernis, is a loyal customer, Trudie was able to assist (with world class service) in an order he required. We also have proof that Trudie is an actual human, part of our team of 14 staff members, pays her PAYE owns two cats and enjoys Rooibos tea before she starts work...

I guess BikeHub is a logical place (I noted he registered in 2014 so he has been here before, ** NOTE - Buycycle did not ask him to register in 2014) where you can voice good and bad service. Like HelloPeter used to be in the day.

Unless you give positive feedback as your first post. To an online store.

Poor chap. Being ridiculed for being positive.

Will call him to explain the culture on the Hub.

My 2c worth here...i have bought from Buycycle over the last 3- 4 years...never been let down once before.Even when the wrong article was delivered Trudi arranged for the right one the very next day.It happens more often than not so when good service is delivered why dont we praise that?Becuase we have a culture of complaining about poor service all the time.

I don't understand how he deserved it? Could you please elaborate why he deserved it and then why anyone else deserves "it" and why buycycle deserved "it"? Because there is more than one party involved and neither of them are in the wrong, so please explain to me why?

I think this answers my question in some way or another though.

I find that drinking a cup of concrete in the morning also helps with this condition

When ever I see the title of this thread I keep thinking it is "Isn't bicycling amazing" and then when I did poke my head in. Turns out it wasn't what I thought it was and definitely wasn't 'amazing'.

Howzit Christian. I've purchased from buycycle once before but the item was out of stock. Trudie was amazing in following up and sorting out the issue- it really left a lasting good impression.

1/2 score for the website, -1 for allowing payments when theres no stock!

11/10 scored for staff competency. If you had an option to buy a staff member a cup of tea, It would be in my cart

It was funny I won't lie, but when it is time to apologise then do so, otherwise, it's setting a culture, and you know it.

You can't shape that culture into one of acceptance if the "big boys" don't apologise, but rather have a "htfu boet, you're a man aren't you?" attitude.

I don't know the OP but he most probably must have been like, ****, these guys are still completely stuck in their varsity's res standing with a beer in their hands poking the new kid.

When I feel a bit soft, I find washing my bike hardens me right up! I create a second hub account, post something positive about something cycling related and then watch the "hub newbie tough love" come flying in.

Fixed that for you
