I'm driving up the N2 tomorrow am from Stellenbosch over Houwhoek - any easily accessible spectator viewing points that I may be able to access en route?  I see they start and finish at Oak Valley tomorrow - maybe Paul Cluver an option?

According to the results and withdrawals on the Epic website it looks like Team Dorma-Kaba has withdrawn in the ladies race...

That's sad to hear, they were looking strong.

No matter how hardcore you are, concussion is not to be messed with. Recovery and full effect of the injury can only be measured much later.

Go home, Sammy, full forced rest. Lots of Netflix, sleep and green tea. You can ride for your Mum on any other day. Health first. ????

Yeah, new leaders. But not due to own skill and form

Fortunately, cycling is not just about skill, capability, conditioning or form.

Luck, weather, terrain and circumstances contribute.

That's what makes sport so grand and fantastic.

Great to see how well Laura Stark is doing in the mixed. I met her at the Origin of Trails race a very nice lady and a young mom to boot.

Oldest daughter of Tony Stark if I'm not mistaken?

I would love to know what the training approach to the race is to get the riders to become stronger as the race progresses.

It's more about maintaining a peak for longer or deteriorating slower relative to other racers.

Base fitness, freshness, personal hygiene / staying gogga free, race craft and team work.

So many variables

How to prep in training and peaking? That's where the experts do their thang. ????????‍♀️

The rest is up to the racers and the race situation. ????
