James Lawrence (Iron Cowboy) did it in 2015 but all of his races were outdoors. He had also done a few Ironman races before he embarked on the challenge

Ashley Horner has only completed an Olympic distance race

All while driving between each state (apart from Hawaii (did it first) and Alaska I imagine) in a camper van with wife and 5 kids.

That's properly impressive.

It deserved way more coverage - has to be one of the more impressive endurance achievements ever - along with Marc Beaumont (?) riding around the world in under 80 days.

Was just a little over 15 hours.

Swim - 1:07 (quite a bit faster than her usual pace)

Bike - 8:02

Run - 6:11

I watched the Iron Cowboy documentary, and it took a lot out of him. I would be very worried about the long term impact. Adrenal fatigue would scare me.

The Iron Cowboy was so out of it on one of his rides that he had a crash from falling asleep on his bike. And that was from an experienced triathlete.

I take my hat off to Ashley Horner. It is a remarkable achievement if she can get through it all. And doing it in such a public way means there is no room for failure. I just hope she is being honest.

I read on Slowtwitch that the swim was short, she didn't make the distance and it took her 21+ hours to complete.

Ironman: 3.8 km swim, a 180 km bicycle ride and a 42km run, raced in that order and without a break under 17 hours.
