Welcome back spurs. And Vardy you legend.

saints should have wiped the floor with Newcastle but alas. Not to be. Did everything but score.

New season, new kit, new players...  same ol' Spurs!!

Can't be accused of consistency though.    😤

Saints lose at home. Big loss as I suspect Forrest will be in the trenches with us come May 2025.
Farnborough big loss on the road too. Only side that had a perfect record, went down 4 -1.
play again Today but meeting other saffas who are fresh off the boat so no can go. 😢

as to my betting, I have now lost 9 bets on the trot. Think William hill have upped their algorithms but dammit man, man United should cruise past Brighton every day of the week.

Sven Goran Erickson RIP.

what a gentleman. His last few months he faced with dignity and resolve. His greatest game imho was the 5-1 thrashing of Deutschland in their back yard. Folks still talk of that nigh on 25 years later. RIP

So, thinking that Farnborough were playing away tomorrow I bought tickets to Aldershot game. https://www.theshots.co.uk  . Last time I went to a shots game was 2 seasons ago against Wrexham. Wrexham now 2 leagues higher of course. Ground holds about 5000 and Aldershot quite a working man’s town so to speak so it’s a Lekker arvie out. I love working man England if that makes sense.

and last week the shots were also at home and set off flares and threw coins at the opposition supporters which has now, resulted in the aborting of plans to move the opposing fans and home fans terraces closer together which would create space to have more folks in. This is the 5th tier of English football and it’s competitive, I dare say the shots would beat bafana bafana as an example. Farnborough are in the 6th tier and my local side ,Guildford city, are in the 9th tier.

anyway, tomorrow it’s a short bus journey, pie and beer day.

What a day out at aldershot FC. Final score 4 -3. Up and down game. I was in the terraces. Proper British football experience. Sang the songs and clapped and lived in the moment. Reminded me of old school games pre hillsborough.

took these pics long before kick off. Before folks came en masse. Terraces were jammed.

farnborough also won. Saints were woeful. Even with Ramsdale. IMG_0161.jpeg.cda7b5462fdc997cf4e674320c37c426.jpeg

Doku and Silva kick the ball away to prevent Arsenal from taking quick free kicks, Doku was especially blatant kicking the ball at least 10ft away, and Trossard gets another yellow and a send-off for doing the same.  Then PGMOL change their tune for why he was carded.  Nah fam, with Man City's owners (the same individuals and the same company) paying Michael Oliver double the usual fee to ref in the UAE, the conflict of interest is obvious.  Legendary ref Pierluigi Collina had an absolute go at Oliver's decisions, calling them not just  "terrible mistakes" but also "stupid".

He favoured the same team against Liverpool with another crucial and blatantly incorrect decision last year.   Kovacic's nightmare tackle unpunished, there are so many...  His excuse for not sending Kovacic off?  "I didn't want to ruin the spectacle of the game."

101 restarts have been delayed in the league thus far.  4 cards.  3 of them Arsenal players.  Seriously biased.  The league is rotten.  Even Goldbridge is seething at the inconsistency and bias and he hasn't stopped yet.  Goldbridge?  Standing up for Arsenal being hard done by?  Must be serious.

Then they apologise.  PGMOL formally apologised to Arsenal 3 times last year in decisions that cost the club 8 points.  When the league is decided by cheating/incompetent match officials...

Hmmm... Red card happy Michael Oliver has issued 5 red cards against Tottenham and Everton players, 4 against Leicester, 3 against Man United, 3 against West Ham, 3 against Aston Villa, 2 each against West Brom and Chelsea and and Stoke and Burnley and Southampton, and 7 against Arsenal.

Zero prizes for guessing which is the one team that he has not penalised with a red card in the 47 of their matches that he refereed.  Got it in one, the same team owners who pay him double to work in the UAE.
