I'd actually love it if City win the Champions league... screw Uefa and their half baked/half applied rules

Nice read on Gary Nevilles views on FFP... basically put, FFP if applied like Uefa want it, would pretty much just ensure the status quo in football is always maintained. That's anti-competition and anti pretty much everything we love about sport. There is merit in protecting clubs 'from doing a Leeds', but there are better ways to go about it. Chasing money away from the game is not necessary

Agreed.

If the CAS rule in favour of City it would be goodbye FFP as it is now.. if they really want to protect smaller clubs from financially difficulty they need to figure out a different way.. the way it is now is def not looking out for the little ones.

long term, I don't see the elite level of pro sports staying where it is. an equivalent gini co-efficient of top players vs the guys trying to get in the door is extreme.

The TV deals for US sports and world soccer are just nuts. when it gets disrupted there's going to be a bloodbath. and that's mainly because the controlling bodies won't be able to move quick enough. cricket suits learnt from kerry packer circus that they couldn't miss out on IPL by just banning it, i doubt most other sports are humble enough.

Whether we agree with the rules or not is actually irrelevant. They are there and the teams should honour them and abide by them. Its not fair on teams that do play according to the rules when others cheat.

Should saints now field 15 players in a game that would be illegal and immediately sanctioned, the same should apply to all rules. If city are guilty they should be sanctioned.

Teams are also involved in the rule making process and City accepted these to ply by.

I'd agree with you if I thought other teams were strictly abiding by them and that Uefa was applying the rules and punishments fairly to all clubs...

I can see CAS kicking this into touch and the Facade that is FFP being binned - hopefully for something more sensible.

That must be the nicest thing GN has said about the noisy neighbors.

Agree with Gary, his ex-club is a good example of this. They are now £400m in debt, in the last year alone they have spent something like £200m on new signings, there are talks of them making more big signings in June (Grealish & Maddison) - would love to know how FFP actually applies for a club like Man U because clearly being in debt clearly doesn't seem to hold them back when spending? How is FFP protecting a club like say a Leicester against a Man U below them just continuing to attempt to spend themselves out of trouble?

United probably have huge revenues, probably more so than city. And they have always been in debt. I recall back when united played Chelsea in the champions league final the total debt of the 2 clubs was 1.5 billion pounds.

So Liverpool fall. Strange game.

Don’t mind dropping points at West Ham. I like moyes an want to see West Ham stay up. Proper grinder club.

Cup final day. Got a braai going an a beer or 2.

Everton United game of goal keeper howlers. Pickford is not good enough for England in the summer

Awesome. Enjoy...

It’s not as if Spurs are doing themselves any favors against a lackluster Wolves side really...

Wolves have 2 goals from 2 shots on target!! Both gifted...

Seems spurs don’t want to play champions league next season.

I really can’t figure what Mourinho is actually trying to achieve this season. While his history shows incredible results in his 2nd season, I’m wondering if he is going to call this a mid-season change when things are not going his way next season...??

In any case, the mental approach of this current lot, with or without any registered players, seems to be chalk and cheese in comparison to the lads of the previous seasons. They really used to battle for results, and play for each other... Sadly, not noticeable these days...

This squad really should be better than the results they are achieving.

Enjoying Chelsea Liverpool game. As things stand Liverpool could be on a losing streak of sorts, but for a howler by West ham keep they could be facign a 4 game losing streak.

Giroud having a great game.

Watching it on BBC here , picture is fantastic, wow
