This is really a good signing for Chelsea..he brings with him so much experience and leadership..something that will help so much with the youngsters in the squad.

Great stuff

Not my team but I have always liked Chelsea.Good luck to them

I love this part about football... always special when a youngster gets the opportunity to live his dream...

Owner of Brescia about the Tonali deal.

Cellino: “We have received offer in January from Barcelona for Tonali. Manchester United made a bid for him before Milan, but once Milan came forward the player went crazy and only asked to join Milan because it’s the team he supported since he was a child.”

After watching the Messi interview I am so sad for him.. so sad the way things are... I really feel for him.. sitting there in his shorts t-shirt and slops being open an honest.. explained everything why the burofax why the decision to leave why the option to leave was there and why he won't take them to court..

It really is terrible management form the club.. why not compromise and say okay you want to leave let's then remove the buyout clause sell you for say 100m ..barca are in deep financial shite..this way they could've made money off his sale and saved on wages.. and they could've left on good terms.. now he is really being held hostage .. now they risk him leaving for free after the season.. they will still be in financial difficulties and have still not made any sporting improvements but will be Messi-less... a year would be wasted for both parties..

Kai Harvetz to Chelsea done!

I believe Lampard himself was quite instrumental in the deal.

Chelsea sure have made some really good signings...they will be interesting to watch over the next few years

Great start to the season. Lose first round League Cup tie to second division team.

Birmingham City 0 Cambridge United 1

That’s the pain of being a football supporter... Better luck next time Ol’ Chap

An excellent convincing win for the Azzurri against the Netherlands last night.. legs got a bit tired in the last 8 min or so and then our defense held firm, dominated the game.

Those last 8 min or so when we had to defend my son said.. yeah mom doesn't matter how attacking we play these days we are still Italy and know how to defend ..[emoji173]

So many individuals that had outstanding performances..could have easily have won by 3-4 .. that young midfield was very impressive even in the absence of Verratti. Very good to see Chiellini back on the pitch for the full 90min after his long injury..at 35 he is still the boss.. finished and klaar the boss...and can still teach a few younger defenders a few lessons... he was outstanding, so too was Locatelli...what a debut[emoji7], Insigne[emoji7], Barella [emoji7] Spinazzolo [emoji7], Jorginho[emoji7]. the only down side is it seems as if Zaniolo once again has a terrible injury..I am hoping that it is not as bad as feared would be a terrible blow for him after just returning form his ACL injury..[emoji24]

And so Tonali to Milan is official..

There was so much website traffic the website crashed.

The kid is so happy to be joining Milan.

Quite sweet he phoned Gattuso to get permission to wear the no8 shirt....kod can't wait to get to training..

This is really what makes football different from other sports..Kid gets to live his dream and play for the club he loves.. born not to far from Milan and has loved the club since he was a kid.. he'llseel soundly tonight and may have stiff cheeks from all of thay smiling.

And also well done to Brescia..they turned down a really big offer from Barca in Jan as well as a offer from United so that the kid could join his dream club.

This is the part of Italian football that I just don’t understand...

They would rather exchange players, or sell relatively cheaply, (as long as or provided that) it’s within the league!

This seems to happen in Spain and Germany as well... although to a lesser extent as far as I am aware.

Now I know that, in the EPL at least, clubs are reluctant to let their best players go to clubs within the league, more so if it’s a “direct competitor”...

1.. Italian players don't particularly like leaving Italy.. be it the culture, lifestyle, weather or just the passion for the sport in Italy that's keeps them home.

2. I also think it's is better for the National team development to stay home. In England you have so many foreigners that the young English players don't get to develop the same way they do in Italy/Spain/Germany.

Any case I am happy they stay in Italy... would hate to see a young player like Tonali (20) not getting the time and space to develop. The football culture in England is also quite toxic at times and the fans and media seem to have no patience with young talent. As least at Milan he is part of their project..it's a very young team and it was the perfect move for him and where he is in his career. And that is good for him, Milan and National team. And it doesn't matter what some fans think..Players will always have a big desire to achieve with the National team.
