Race is 06:35 Saturday morning in Kona meaning its 18:35 Saturday evening our time for those streaming it.

You are a Lifesaver ScottC-M -I was about to stuff it up and sit all amped with chippy and dippy on Sunday night (Why did I think Sunday-I would never forgive myself)- so this is even better.

180km @ 37km/h in 4H40min @ 117BPM HR after 4km swim and then 25 km run at 142BPM HR  . These guys are something else

You forget that the run pace was 4:03/4:02 per km average with a negative split puts the 142 HR in perspective

How the heck is bike HR so low!!!! That's like a zone 2 ride.

Bike course record holder Cam Wurf

an easy prediction - Wurf going for the bike course record again. His own 4:12:54 to beat.

Starky is also aiming for the bike record as he knows he won't make top 10 after the run so it's his main goal from my understanding. Whereas Wurf is aiming for podium and he's been trolling Sanders on social media the past few months which i see as a mental weakness on Wurf's part.

My prediction for fastest bike split:

1. Starky

2. Sanders

3. Seb

I think a lot will depend on the conditions. They had perfect conditions last year flat swim and almost no wind on the bike, will have to wait and see what the Island throws at them this year.

Starkeys a freak no doubt, but I'm sure he's said this before and bombed.

Wurf is class, I think he takes it anyway

My money is on Sanders taking it this year for the men. And Ryf/Charles fighting it out for the ladies.
Charles is an absolute beast considering she is still relatively new to the sport. Both her and Daniela are looking lean and in great shape.

I recently watched the latest episode of the GTN show and found it interesting how few pros actually predicted a top 3 for Sanders. Sounds like they feel he is completely overthinking his approach. "Reinventing the wheel".

I think there are a couple of dark horses who might upset the apple cart:

For the men - Braden Currie (he beat Gomez at IM Cairns, going 7:54 and running sub-2:40) and for the ladies - Anne Haug, and Mirinda Carfrae.
