Any theories on why some of the great MTB races out in the country have fallen away? Seems that the lekker MTB fun rides with easier distances have gone  in favour of race snake events like Imbuko and Trailseeker series. Or are there shorter distances available for the Trailseeker? The Autumn Splendour MTB was a great chance to ride a fun route at De Doorns.

I really miss the Totalsports Challenge duathlon from Gordons bay to Kleinmond! With a road ride, road run, mountain bike and finishing with a beach run, it was such a cool race and offered something unique.

As an average allrounder, TSC was the one event i was almost guaranteed to actually get prizemoney. I did 5/6 as a solo. Was an awesome event, with the distances the right amount for you to hack your way before moving onto the next leg. I have considered doing a guerilla version, get 10 guys together, chat to arabella for water access and bob's your uncle. but early january is a bitch to get yourself ready for.

Are 24 hour lap races still a thing? I have great memories of the 24 hour team relay in Parys from what seems to be a lifetime ago.

I know there was one in Elgin/Grabouw at once stage as well. But haven’t seen much on that front for a while

Trailseeker do have a 40km route.  But certainly do bring your legs !!!

Also only 1 or 2 per area for the year.

But well organised and well worth supporting.

The Worcester valley had so many "farm races" .... would love it if some of these make a come back.  Fine Breede has a some special memories for us, would really like to do it again.
