BikeisLife Posted November 14, 2018 Share Can this be correct: I have received an e-mail from Aramax, The total amount i owe them is R 1283.47. This consist of :Clearance 260.00Duties Duties 563.49Disbursement Disbursement 25.88Customs VAT Customs VAT 395.10VAT VAT 39.00Shipment Total Amount: 1,283.47 This is for 1 Brooks Saddle of about R 2000.00 That sounds way off. Tell them that it is a bicycle component, should be zero duties, if I'm not mistaken. Help.Me.

Help.Me. Posted November 14, 2018 Share That sounds way off. Tell them that it is a bicycle component, should be zero duties, if I'm not mistaken. So is it just the duties that must be deducted of the invoice?
daniemare Posted November 14, 2018 Share So is it just the duties that must be deducted of the invoice? When ordering from overseas you will have- Duties if applicable - most bike components carry no duties (import tax)- VAT - on the custom value plus duties- Service charge by your courier company for clearing the package through customs and delivering it to you. As this is a local service, this will atteact VAT too. So, yes , if the saddle is classified as a bike conponenet, that duty should dissapear as well as the VAT amount should reduce. The Amarax R260 plus VAT is what it is because you either selected them (Global shopper) or were forced to use them as the preferred courier by the seller Help.Me.
EssBee Posted March 14, 2019 Share Ok, my one week is over and no delivery plus no word from them. Mailed them this morning, let's see what happens. Seriously ticked off now. I used to use CRC quite a bit in about 2006 - 2008 and never had any issues....just saying.CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? Goods received.

DieselnDust Posted July 5, 2019 Share My December package is still in Decemeber...If from CRC then check in with Skynet in jhb. They don't always let you know you have a package in their customs depot. You will get an email which may go to spam. Then you will wait and wait. And wait.tracked shipping options always better but buying from lbs is overall far less pain

Thomo Posted August 13, 2019 Share As stated previously, make peace with a 2-3 week delivery period and only order if not required urgently, and/or if prices are too good to ignore.Just wish they'd stop calling it "Express Delivery". LOL
