Quorn mince and spaghetti for dinner tonight.

It’s edible, but it’s not something I’ll rush for.

What’s for dinner tonight Wayne?

yeah tofu.

It’s all about how you prepare it. It totally sucks if prepared improperly.

The fact that you said prepared “improperly” leads me to believe you have a butler preparing your Beyonds.

Herbivohr make a really good pulled pork from Jackfruit, we have it pretty often in burritos.

They make a good chicken mayo too.

Exactly who we use. I did find though that once it gets cold and you reheat it gets a weird texture. Not pleasant cold either.

Tried some Linda Mcartney Mozzarella burgers lastnight, pretty good.

Good to know thanks, saw those at the local Tesco.

We tried a Denny’s (not to be confused with the SA company) burger last night aaaaand it was not nice; although their sausages weren’t bad.

How do you prepare it properly?

I had some while in China and was pretty meh about it.

I couldn't really form an opinion about it, it was a little chewy and slightly bland

Tofu is just really a flavour absorber.

We chop it into cubes then marinade it in whatever flavour sauce we want and fry it to give it a well textured surface.

We don't use it as a stand alone serving - we only add it to salads and meals.

I still havent had any tofu combination that I actually enjoyed.

Like Eldron says, it has very little flavour of its own and absorbs other flavours.

Maybe its just the texture that doesnt agree with me.

Try a few. There are some really sloppy/slimy ones - we only buy the firmer type.

Frying the surface also adds to the eating experience. A bit like a cruton - crunchy surface but with a soft tasty interior (if you marinade it right!).
