Bike Hub 2019 Commuters Challenge

Last commute of 2019 tomorrow, looks like rain

Last commute for me was today - family already left for the beach so I had no choice but to take the bike and ride 170km. 

 

I feel it is a rather fitting way to end, the whole year my bike took me to and from work, now I have the chance to let it take me away to my holiday destination.

 

One thing is sure though, it's going back home on a bike rack

Looks like I may be done for the year.

Had a work emergency and I am helping out at the other branch.

Need the car to get from one side to the other as needed.

Will see maybe I can get a last ride in after Christmas.

Beautiful commute this morning.

 

Holiday all forgotten as we're chasing some deadlines for 2020 - no winding down at these ofices!

 

Anyway - only this afternoon and  maybe tomorrow left for commuting this year.

 

Thank you, ladies and gents of the Hub, for the motivation to keep cycling when the legs and head said otherwise. It was great!

Just did some Strava number crunching:

 

My commute is 17kms from home to work.

 

I commuted 130 times on the bike (a commute is one way, and excludes rides where I went training after work before riding home).

 

I did 2411kms of commuting.

 

I spent 90 hours getting to work and back.

 

And I climbed 31327 metres.
